The original function of the Singelpark, the old ramparts, was to protect the city so that the inhabitants could enjoy freedom of thought and action, something considered of great importance in Leiden since the 16th century.
In the inaugural exhibition, six monumental art works by nationally and internationally known artists serve to show what freedom means today and what the effect of borders is or can be.

This exhibition will be opened on October 30th.
